Dimensions: 10.5 x 15 cm. (4.1 x 5.9″)

Publisher/Editor: Academic Printing and Publishing Company, Graz / Autriche

Condition: Postally unused, backside written. Good condition with some signs of age including surface marks and wear to the paper.

Notes: Two lavishly illustrated illuminated manuscript psalters are known as the Psalter of Saint Louis as they belonged to the canonized King Louis IX of France. They are now in Paris and Leiden, and are respectively good examples of French Gothic and English Romanesque illumination.

Potiphar’s wife is a minor character in the Hebrew Bible and the Quran. She was the wife of Potiphar, the captain of Pharaoh’s guard in the time of Jacob and his twelve sons. According to the Book of Genesis, she falsely accused Joseph of attempted rape after he rejected her sexual advances, resulting in his imprisonment.

In Genesis she is given no name, but in later medieval Jewish sources and Islamic tradition, she is identified as Zuleikha (/zuːˈleɪkɑː/ zoo-LAY-kah; Hebrew: זוליכה, romanized: zú-li’-koh; Arabic: زُلَيْخَا, romanized: zulayḵā). (Wikipedia)
