Notes: The picture shows King Frederick the Great’s Round Table in the Marble Hall of Sanssouci Palace. Frederick II, center back, turns to Voltaire , who is seated in the second chair to the left of the king, conversing across the table with Count Algarotti . Between the two sits General von Stille , on the far left Lord Marshal Georg Keith, on the right the King Marquis d`Argens , Count Algarotti, Field Marshal James Keith, Count Rothenburg and La Mettrie, leading figures of the Berlin Academy.
