Nafplion (: Ναύπλιο), in the in , is a seaport town that has expanded up the hillsides near the north end of the (Argolikos Bay). The town was the first capital of Greece from 1829 to 1834. Nafplion, with a population of (13,822) is the capital of the prefecture of and the province of Nafplion.
